A large global law firm seeks a Billing Supervisor to join their dynamic team. The Billing Supervisor is an integral part of the accounting team and will be responsible for supervising the daily operations of the billing team in their assigned office and for ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures of the firm, while training and coaching the Billing staff and leading them in their professional development endeavors. Moreover, the Billing Supervisor will leverage their exceptional communication and analytical talents to cultivate relationships with stakeholders across the firm, thereby effectively overseeing and driving inventory management. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with the Accounting Manager or Billing Manager in the performance evaluation for departmental employees and performance improvement recommendations
- Ensuring goals and objectives of the department are met; providing accurate and timely completion of assignments and inquiry responses
- Coordinating and ensuring the completion of annual and monthly activities including quarterly inventory campaigns, year-end collections, inventory management, e-billing coordination, and all other high-priority and time-sensitive activities
- Participating in routine calls and conferences with partners and management on financial inventory
- Partnering with billing attorneys, secretarial staff, and clients to review, prepare, finalize, and send invoices
- Regularly reviewing and analyzing work-in-progress (WIP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) reports to effectively manage inventory and shorten billing and collection cycles
- Partnering with Accounting Manager to continuously upskill team, ensuring that all members maintain skills that are relevant and up-to-date with industry standards and practices
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent in Accounting or a related field, with a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree, preferably
- A minimum of nine (9) years of increasingly complex accounting experience, including a minimum of four (4) years of law firm billing processes and practices
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience in a law firm supervisory capacity
- Possess the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization to ensure transparency and the alignment of firm goals
- Demonstrate excellent leadership and team development skills (i.e., organizing, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making), with the ability to mentor, train, and motivate team members for continuous improvement and growth
- Exhibit the ability to lead and manage change initiatives, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives
- Possess the ability to develop and implement change management strategies to maximize efficiency
- Demonstrate excellent analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to navigate complex challenges
