Supervisor, Mental Health KT CAC
Oversee the day to day operations for the mental health department of the Kids-TALK CAC program. Assist in the development and/or implementation of necessary interventions, treatment modalities, and protocols for child survivors of trauma. Provide supervision, support, and guidance to clinicians and clinical interns. Deliver clinical services as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team. Participate in department and program development. Scheduled working hours for regular full time employees are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m, including up to 4 hours after 5:00 pm; however, evening and/or weekend hours may be required to accommodate program needs. The Supervisor may also be required to be on-call during evenings, weekends or holidays.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Provide clinical supervision to Kids-TALK CAC staff, including reviewing treatment plans and facilitating clinical case presentations.
2. Oversee and provide therapeutic services to child victims of trauma and non-offending caregivers, which includes, but not limited to: individual therapy, support groups.
3. Responsible for maintaining and growing the clinical internship program at Kids-TALK CAC, including the training, development, oversight, evaluation of clinical interns while building and maintaining relationship with universities. Work directly with other ongoing providers to assist family as needed.
4. Responsible for managing staff and department within span of control, including but not limited to: making recommendations with particular weight as to the interviewing, selecting, hiring, and termination of staff; setting and adjusting hours of work; on-boarding and training staff; directing work and assignments; appraising and evaluation of staff work performance; handling of staff complaints and grievances; and disciplining employees.
5. Responsible for participating in monthly Total Quality Management Committee meeting, actively implement the agency’s quality improvement initiatives within their assigned areas, monitor the implementation and adherence to the established quality improvement initiatives, activities and policies.
6. Promote Kids-TALK CAC clinical services to all Multidisciplinary Team members and provide input/expertise at the Kids-TALK CAC Case Review.
7. Keep up to date on current trends and research in trauma focused treatments.
8. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with people and organizations in the community.
9. Coordinate services with mental health and medical professionals, including psychiatrists, physicians and nurses.
10. Participate in committees, task forces, or other public forums or partnerships whose aims are to enhance the health and well-being of families and develop effective systems of care. Work in partnership with others to identify and eliminate barriers to services.
11. Complete clinical and other documentation in a timely manner consistent with the policies and procedures of The Guidance Center, Kids-TALK CAC and of funding sources.
12. Complete 25 hours of staff development training annually
13. Other duties as assigned.
Travel: Mileage Reimbursement when personal vehicle used - IRS standard. .64 per mile
The Kids-TALK program positions may rotate between Southgate and Detroit (about 30 mins between locations).
Any training paid for by TGC.
