Opportunity Overview:

An innovative financial software company is looking for a Senior Payroll Analyst to join their team! This full-time position will be responsible for providing front-line primary application support to customers on various issues and inquiries relating to the integrated enterprise HR software.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide Payroll, Benefits, Personnel and Time & Attendance (ESS) customer queries in a timely and accurate way, via phone, webinar, email
  • Define, prioritize and categorize issues (Triage)
  • Analyze payroll/benefit issues and assist customers with resolutions
  • Work with cross functional teams to resolve customer issues and escalate complex problems to appropriate team members
  • Enhance and assist with implementation of new Payroll/HR systems
  • Educate customers on products and services
  • Assist customers with designing and writing ad hoc reports as needed
  • Effectively communicate customers' change requests by writing up details and discussing with supervisor and internal programming team
  • Manage follow up with programming team and customers to ensure application issues are resolved
  • Contribute to the support knowledge base
  • Document processes and methodologies used to diagnose and resolve customer issues into appropriate service tools
  • Create and maintain release notes to be sent to customers regarding updates to our software system
  • Stay up to date on, and assist with maintaining, government-related Payroll items such as, but not limited to, annual tax tables, social security limits tax filing requirements
  • Stay up to date on, and assist with maintaining Benefits related reporting, such as EEO and ACA, Defined Contribution limits, etc.

Required Experience:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a client-facing role (account manager, call center, help desk, software support, application support, production support)
  • Experience and understanding of Payroll and/or Accounting Software
  • Payroll Service or HR Experience in a service related environment
  • Quarter/Year End Processing Experience
  • Familiarity with forms 940, 941, W2, W3, 1099, state and unemployment returns
  • Excellent customer service and people skills
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, strategic thinking, organizational, and teamwork skills
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to manage time
  • Is a partner/advocate for project success and best practices
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Confidentiality - Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality on matters requiring discretion
  • Relationship skills Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both oral and written with all levels of the organization.

 

Preferred Experience: 

  • Understanding of relational database system is a plus
  • Good understanding of HR related products and terminology, implementation, architecture and integrated technologies
  • Multi-state payroll experience
  • Previously employed at a software company
  • Ticketing software like Team Support, etc.
  • Webinar tools such as GoToMeeting, Zoom, Turbo
  • Results oriented; committed to quality of product service
  • Ability to work in teams and committed to never letting a teammate down
  • Self-motivated and creative; having the natural drive to learn and pick up new challenges
  • Ability to think conceptually on the fly
  • Adaptive to change, comfortable in fast-changing technology environment
