Outside Sales Representative

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Quickly build rapport with new stakeholders and develop long term relationships
  • Providing influential presentations in person or via GoToMeeting
  • Leverage the list of accounts and probable buyers, hunting for new logos, and new inbound prospects from calls, website traffic and trade shows
  • Utilize multiple communication avenues (phone, email, LinkedIn, webinars etc.) to build awareness and connect with potential prospects
  • Generate interest with key stakeholders to procure discovery conversations or meetings at multiple levels throughout the organization
  • Ask effective questions and actively listen to uncover the customer’s current situation including problems, desired situation, business drivers, needs and decision-making processes
  • Understand company’s value proposition and competitive advantages in order to effectively differentiate and sell the value of the solution in a competitive market
  • Participate in account management activities as needed
  • Reach out to customers for additional opportunities as directed in the sales process
  • Manage and process a qualified pipeline of opportunities by prioritizing assigned accounts and prospects
  • Research and document significant customer and prospect information. This includes notes from conversations, company information, competitors used, technology in place, key contacts, etc

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 2-3 years sales experience, ideally selling in extrusion or molding or technology preferred
  • College degree preferred, Engineering desired
  • Demonstrated success hunting for new business -- meeting sales goals, growing sales
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, understanding how ERP solutions are applied in various industries a plus
  • Experience tracking and managing information
  • PC proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite) required

Physical Demands

  • No special physical demands are required
  • General office environment in which this position includes periods of telephone and computer work that may require sitting for periods of time
  • This position requires 50 – 75% level of travel to customer meetings and trade shows.
