Opportunity Overview

Our client is a local non-profit that has doubled in size over the past 3 ½ years to 200 staff, 59 affordable apartment properties, and 5,660 apartment homes. They plan to more than double in size again in the next handful of years.

The Director of Finance & Accounting must play a key leadership role to help maintain our client's "exemplary” ratings and to provide even greater capacity to positively affect the lives of families and individuals with quality affordable apartment homes.

You will be accountable for the accurate, timely, and effective delivery of all accounting systems and processes, financial reports, financial and tax compliance, and treasury management, including audits, budgeting processes, and the management of banking needs.

You will evaluate, develop, and continually improve policies and procedures for efficient, effective financial and accounting operations. You will report to the CFO who is a nationally recognized finance leader in the affordable housing arena.

Desired Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience & bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent
  • Proven, positive people-management experience and skills
  • Intercultural competence
  • Strong communication, technology, analytical and management competencies
  • A thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • CPA credentials, experience in multifamily housing, or management and nonprofit experience warrants closer consideration.
