Service and Support Engineer

Job Overview


This position reports to the Customer Service Manager and second to the Managing Director. The Service and Support Engineer (SSE) is primarily responsible for investigating, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving mechanical, electrical and software issues with our client. The SSE is often the first point of contact for customers experiencing issues with their machinery. As such, the SSE needs to possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, have solid verbal and written communication skills and be able to work calmly when under pressure. The SSE is required to work online, on the phone and travel to customer sites where most of the work is completed.


Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to the following)


• Provide timely, exceptional customer service in person, over the phone and online

o Use ticketing system to record issues, solutions and track time

o Take ownership of issues and work with our development group to resolve more advanced issues when necessary

• Mechanical, Electrical and Computer

o Breakdown investigative work and repairs

o General corrective maintenance

o Servicing and report writing

o Troubleshooting

o Training and advice

o Machinery installation

• Safety

o Must have a good understanding of OHS

o Adhere to standard safety precautions and policies

• Travel to sites across Australia and New Zealand and to head office (Perth WA)

• Creating and maintaining technical procedures and processes

• Identifying product improvements and working with appropriate teams to get these actioned

• Mechanical Experience: assembly, hand and power tools, site work

• Electrical: use a multimeter, fault finding, read an electrical schematic, experience with PLC systems

• Computer: Programming experience with C++, above average computer skills




• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechatronics specialization is preferred)

• Electrical Ticket (preferred but not essential)

• Experience servicing/ maintaining automated machinery (preferred but not essential)

• Experience in customer service (preferred but not essential) Registration/Licensing requirements:

• Driver’s License valid in state/ country of operation is a condition of employment

• A valid passport and ability to travel abroad as required (Australia, New Zealand, USA & UK)

• Trustworthy, punctual, and reliable
