Marketing Specialist

Position Overview:

The Marketing Specialist will report to and work directly with the Marketing Communications and Brand Manager, with most duties performed at our Edina, MN, location. In this part-time position, the Marketing Specialist will work collaboratively, as well as work independently, on a range of creative print and electronic marketing deliverables.

We’re looking for someone with these skills:

  • Eye for design, and ability to apply that to a variety of print and digital formats
  • Creative thinker who will be able to quickly learn and understand existing processes, as well as suggest improvements to streamline workflow
  • Proficient with Adobe’s Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro), Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and online Marketing tools (WordPress, Constant Contact)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external customers. Able to successfully express creative ideas
  • Reliable. This position is part of our internal Marketing team, and will be working on projects that involve multiple people who rely on each other to keep individual assignments on track
  • Attention to detail. Ability to detect and fix type/design errors before publishing
  • Organized and driven. Ideal candidate will be able to manage their time effectively
  • Familiar with current social media tools and ability to use them for Marketing functions

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create and/or update print/electronic collateral to promote the company and products we sell
  • Use collected content to create monthly customer e-newsletter and other e-marketing projects
  • Assist with execution of social media strategy, including developing content (organic and paid)
  • Update website (WordPress), including adding new products and modifying existing content
  • Collaborate with Marketing Communications and Brand Manager on additional projects as needed
  • Assist with customer design projects as needed
  • Support planning and marketing of community & employee events
  • Other duties as assigned 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field of study or equivalent combined marketing/communications and education experience
  • Two or more years of print and digital marketing experience
  • Excellent design and relationship-building skills
  • Knowledge of current trends and techniques in social media and advertising
  • Demonstrated creative ability regarding, design, writing, social media, advertising and editing
  • A commitment to maintaining brand consistency
  • Professional and highly motivated while maintaining quality and accuracy
  • Experience with Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro), WordPress and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with social media (Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram)
This is a part-time role (20 hours a week) with hybrid/work from home flexibility once the person is up to speed.
