Our client, an award-winning digital marketing agency is seeking an Account Manager to manage and grow key client accounts.

The Account Manager plays a pivotal role in overall client success, managing and growing the client relationship and working with the marketing team to strategize, execute, and optimize brand and marketing activities across client’s digital campaigns.

The success of the Account Manager will be measured by:

  • Account retention and growth: You will work on identifying opportunities to retain and upsell into our current client list.
  • Account ownership: You will work on multiple accounts, helping to manage client relationships along with the day-to-day project details.
  • Initiative: You will work with strategists to develop new tactics and ideas, advocating for client success.
  • Value delivery: You will understand and communicate the value of services and marketing endeavors to clients.
  • Teamwork: You will work with internal teams to ensure clients are satisfied and team members have a deep understanding of client’s goals and objectives.

Key Skills and Competencies

The Account Manager will have 2 to 5 years of experience demonstrating the following:

  • Management Oversight: Accounts – effectively overseeing client account relationships
    • Masterfully juggled multiple accounts, with potentially conflicting priorities, ensuring positive client experience
    • Anticipated needs of clients with proactive recommendations and solutions
    • Successfully meeting and exceeding client expectations monitoring availability of internal resources and project timelines
  • Communication – effective listening and communication ensuring team and client success
    • Polished and professional verbal and written communication
    • Served as the main point of contact for client and internal stakeholders and as an advocate for client success
    • Provided clear and timely communication with internal stakeholders regarding client expectations, project deliverables, and timelines
  • Domain Expertise – Digital Marketing – growing understanding of digital marketing tactics, execution, and measurement
    • Continually improves digital marketing knowledge through attending training sessions, asking smart questions and being a champion of your career development
    • Ability to build client confidence through personal knowledge of digital trends, tactics, and technologies
    • Basic understanding of digital/analytic marketing platform tools (SEMrush, Google Analytics, GDS and HubSpot)

Success Objectives: First 12 Months

  • Within 30 days, an “A” level Account Manager will be able to:
    • Effectively communicate the goals and business objectives of each of their assigned accounts to internal team members, ensuring value delivery.
    • Utilize appropriately and effectively systems and tools including Accelo and GDS reporting.
  • Within the first 60 days:
    • Work enthusiastically with team members to find solutions to client’s marketing objectives.
    • Thoroughly and accurately fill out creative briefs tickets and tasks ensuring team members have all necessary information to meet client’s expectations and goals.
  • Within the first 90 days:
    • Clearly and accurately report performance metrics and value articulation to clients
    • Ensure all tasks are on schedule for completion; communicate clear timelines and expectations, measured by comparing actual versus scheduled at 95% on-time completion rate
    • Ensure clients are up to full speed on retainer fulfillment, recommendations, and changes; evaluated by number of known incidents of client feedback to the contrary
  • Within the first 120 days:
    • Retain and grow client base by providing exemplary service through productive, professional relationships with key personnel while maintaining an in-depth understanding of each client’s marketing and advertising objectives
    • Control the scope of each retainer to ensure we are only doing the work that has been mutually agreed and that tasks are completed within budget or within agreed-upon changed scope
    • Has developed the ability to make platform, tactic and budget recommendations based on client goals and KPIs
