EHS Manager

Position Overview:

HM Cragg is a 100% employee-owned company with an extremely impressive growth history and a Field Service organization of nearly 50 technicians in 8 upper Midwest states! Due to the growth, we are adding an Environmental Health and Safety Manager. The EHS Manager will be tasked with acting on behalf of HM Cragg, specifically regarding the promotion of safe, professional work practices and conditions that are in compliance with environmental, health and safety policies and regulations.

Reporting Relationship:

The Environmental Health and Safety Manager reports to the Vice President, Operations and Service


  • Design, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures to drive to zero recordable incidents
  • Develop, implement, and monitor HSE programs and procedures to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations
  • Act as primary contact in dealing with regulatory agencies, including but not limited to OSHA and DOT
  • Perform regular job site visits and safety audits, report results, and ensure deficiencies are corrected
  • Investigate all incidents/injuries, maintain statistics, and make recommendations for correction of problem areas
  • Complete required HSE reporting to regulatory agencies and customers
  • Develop training materials and conduct health and safety training, including but not limited to new hire orientation, SDS utilization, emergency procedures, and workplace safety
  • Research and administer the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniform programs of the company
  • Facilitator and liaison of all external resources related to HSE activities of the company
  • Serve as Safety Committee Chair
  • Perform other duties as assigned



  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental regulations is essential
  • Must be proficient in technology and equipment used in HSE inspections
  • Proficient in use of HSE portals such as Avetta, ISN, Veriforce, and PEC
  • Must conform to company policies and procedures and meet company goals and objectives as well as protect the company assets and interests
  • Must be dependable and able to work independently
  • Must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possess troubleshooting skills and be able to effectively operate basic shop equipment

Posting Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in HSE or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience
  • Industry experience preferred
  • Prior HSE experience in a Field Service organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite products including Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point
