Director of Site Operations

Position Overview:

The Director of Site Operations will be responsible for all aspects of our data center field operations and will work closely with the Operations Teams, appointed partners, and vendors to maintain high reliability and performance of the facility while delivering best in class services to our customers.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for casting the vision, strategy, and tactical plans to achieve operational excellence across all of Compute North's data centers
  • Responsible for the processes, organizational structure, systems, and tools used to efficiently execute and lead all aspects of the site operations, including preventative maintenance, hosted equipment servicing and repair, fault resolution, and onsite warehousing operations
  • Develop an effective front-line leadership team and assist them with developing their direct reports as to drive a high-performance culture and environment
  • Implement and enhance consistent standardized operating practices that are aligned with the Compute North's initiatives and expectations
  • Works with various departments, including Customer Success, Network Operations, Warehousing and Logistics, and Engineering to establish and improve cross-functional workflows, resolve customer issues, and implement effective solutions to continually improve the performance of the data centers and field operations
  • Participates and contributes to internal and external operational meetings. Presents weekly on operational analytics and data to executive team and key stakeholders
  • Advise leadership on the performance, needs and recommendations for improvement of the data center facilities
  • Assist and support site development, constructions, and commissioning teams as necessary with the development of new sites, from groundbreaking through construction and hand-off to Site Operations
  • Manage operating expenses to budget and align resources across Site Operations to meet the needs of the business
  • Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of data center operations

Education & Experience Required:

  • 7-10 years of experience leading the operations of geographically diverse data centers and/or large field service organizations
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong leadership, coaching, team building; proven ability to develop front line leaders and manage teams remotely
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure and operations.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen
  • Strong sense of team and collaboration across the organization
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful
