Position Overview:

HM Cragg, is an 100% employee owned company with an extremely impressive growth history with stock ownership increases of over 600% in the past 10 years! HM Cragg is looking to work with and help develop recent graduates in the electrical service/maintenance industry. The Entry Level Generator Technician will learn the basics of installs, repair, as well as routine and preventative maintenance on generators and back-up power systems.


Reporting Relationship: The Entry Level Generator Technician reports to the Service Manager.



Continually learn to improve on repairs of industrial generators as well as preventative maintenance Maintains knowledge of updated changes in various models of equipment.

Evaluates and recommends any required repairs

Excellent customer skills

Proactively stays up to date on safety training, compliance and knowledge of HAZ MAT and DOT requirements

Continually trains and develops to advance to next levels of Generator Technician

Perform other duties as assigned



Skills/Knowledge Possess a working knowledge of the Generator Technician position and how it relates to the overall business and its' objectives.

Must conform to company policies and procedures and meet company goals and objectives as well as protect the company assets and interests.

Must have and be able to maintain a current driver's license and acceptable driving record per HM Cragg insurance carrier standard.

Must be able to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirements.

Must be computer literate, a Windows based environment preferred (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook)

Must be dependable and able to work independently

Must be able to lift 50 pounds and able to bend and twist several times a day

Must be able to work flexible hours and days

Ability to maintain a professional appearance, promote and maintain a clean, neat and safe work environment

Possess troubleshooting skills and be able to effectively operate basic shop equipment

Posting Qualifications:

Associates degree preferred or equivalent experience working with engines/motors

Generator industry knowledge is a plus

Efficient in Microsoft Suite products including Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point

Must pass a physical exam, background check and drug test within 90 days of hire
