Our client has retained us to help them hire their first full-time Chief Operations Officer (COO) for their privately held fast growing technology solutions organization. This is an incredible opportunity to be the ‘right-hand’ to the Owner and Founder. This Company has nearly doubled its revenue YOY for the last three years and continues to build on capturing its impressive market share.

The COO will lead the strategy and development of the operations function but will also play a critical role in integrating all functional departments to ensure there is a cohesive plan to scale. The COO/Integrator will be accountable for managing the Company’s P&L, executing on the business plan and will lead and manage the Leadership Team.

Qualified candidates must have a background in professional services and have led multi-disciplinary teams (i.e. operations, sales, finance, etc.)

Accountabilities:

  • Works side by side with the Founder/Owner on Vision and faithfully executes the business plan, achieving or exceeding planned goals and objectives
  • Leads, manages, and holds the leadership team accountable for achieving agreed upon commitments
  • Integrates all major operating functions of the business including sales, solutions, marketing, delivery, and operations. Ensures everyone is rowing together in the same direction. Models the way, always working towards the greater good of the business
  • Resolves issues effectively- seeing real problems, being comfortable with conflict, calling out the problems, and solving the problems in a practical and healthy manner. Ensures the leadership team is healthy, functions, and is cohesive
  • Is detail driven, plugged into the day-to-day activities to assess, improve, and scale
  • Spearheads the development and maintenance of processes and ensures that everyone is truly following and adhering to them with consistency
  • Demonstrates effective project management skills
  • Creates a scalable structure to support growth in software and services
  • Champions and drives professional development

Competencies and other criteria:

  • 4-year degree or equivalent business experience
  • 5+ years in a strategic management/leadership role
  • Demonstrated ability to execute against a business plan
  • Experience setting strategy and communicating direction
  • Superb communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven influencing skills and ability to drive results
  • Dedicated people leader, focused on assessing, developing, and leading middles managers and staff level
