Position Summary:

The Vice President (VP) of Marketing will serve in two unique roles. The first is to provide overall strategic and brand marketing leadership. The second is to work closely with the Visionary and leadership team to provide strategic planning and development across the entire organization with respect to operations and product-centricity. This is a product focused company that has grown exponentially in the last two years. There are plans to grow by 42% in 2021 and it is imperative that this business activate the right systems, tools, processes, and vendor partners as it relates to support this growth.

 

Brand Responsibilities:

  • Oversee staff in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a long-term client-focused brand marketing strategy for the company including brand management and e-business
  • Regularly communicate with CEO/Visionary to identify client and innovation priorities, so that the strategic and tactical marketing plan is aligned with appropriate resources to drive revenue goals
  • Utilize internal and external data sources to develop market research to evaluate trends, brand awareness, competition initiatives to inform the creation or alignment of the corporate strategy
  • Create, monitor and evaluate company specific Key Performance Indicators to drive sales initiatives and revenue growth
  • Monitor competitor activity and create focused initiatives to increase market share
  • Manage the department budget and use financial strategy to advise all marketing plans
  • Oversee the production of all marketing materials, including printed documents, media advertising, website content, and social media accounts
  • Closely align with Sales to ensure revenue and growth expectations are achieved; providing client, region, and product specific marketing initiatives supported by data driven analytics
  • Research and analyze economic trends, buying habits, and the demographic characteristics of consumers, and build competitive assessments of our key competitor capabilities

 

Product Management Responsibilities:

  • Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing
  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes
  • Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products
  • Provides source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives
  • Obtains product market share by working with sales director to develop product sales strategies
  • Assesses product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results
  • Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses, answering questions and requests.
  • Introduces and markets new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production

 

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Marketing or Business degree
  • 10+ years working experience in Brand and Product Management/Marketing, with experience in B2B product-based company
  • Leadership experience hiring and managing team members, leading cross-functional initiatives and change
  • Track record of developing new markets, increasing market share, introducing emerging products to existing and new clients, and experience working in a market segmentation model
  • Defined success in integrating employee, public and customer group messages and marketing
  • Experience with a Board of Directors’ and or/ Executive Leadership team

  • Proven ability to initiate and develop a comprehensive work plan, monitor progress and complete the project within the timeline and budget.
  • A strong understanding of brand marketing and a vision for delivering content through new platforms.
  • An excellent communicator who proactively engages the team on expectations, goals and vision
  • Ability to work with multiple internal stakeholders and coordinate them as assets and resources for the project
  • Ability to understand the unique industry forces and competitors to develop a comprehensive marketing strategy
