OEM Sales Manager – Aviation Engines & Parts

OEM Sales Manager opportunity with a vertically integrated global manufacturer of piston aircraft engines doing business for over 100 years. This position will be managing existing customer accounts consisting of commercial and private jet companies.

Education and/or Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or aviation related field or equivalent experience in aviation/technical customer-related field.

Certificates and/or Licenses

  • FAA private pilot certificate and/or FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate a plus.

Summary

Highly responsible and motivated individual that works very close with the Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) customer in a sales and technical product support capacity.

The OEM Sales Manager works directly with identified and assigned OEM customers to maximize revenue generation and customer satisfaction for all products/ services. Individual will identify appropriate sales opportunities in the early phases of development and then manages and support them through the stages of the selling cycle and beyond. This process will include initial opportunity assessment, new business review activities and formal program initiation. The OEM Sales Manager will be responsible for lead generation and customer relationship management in accordance with direction from Director OEM Sales. Individual will be responsible for meeting sales goals and objectives as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify new customer leads and manage them through stages of the selling cycle.
  • Create quotes and proposals while serving as a sales and technical advisor.
  • Manage assigned OEM customers for all engine and parts products and services.
  • Effective planning to conduct sales and technical presentations by meeting with customers on a routine basis.
  • Act as main point of contact for all original equipment manufacturing customer related matters, incl. function, quality, design, specification, application, and delivered condition of products and facilitates coordination with other departments.
  • Lead and facilitate customer-supplier communication, incl. RAIL, Quarterly meetings, etc.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customer base.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Use all available processes, procedures as well as other resources in the company to effectively accelerate, close and manage opportunities and manage customer relationships.
  • Assist in developing sales strategies and campaigns to help gain market share and secure positions on existing and new platforms.
  • Work closely with OEM Account Coordinator.
  • Follow through on calls/tasks to insure they are properly closed. 

Communication/ Comprehension

  • Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Comfortable in public speaking to a variety of audiences.
  • Additional foreign language abilities desired.

Computer/ Technical

  • Strong competency in the use of a personal computer including, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ERP and CRM programs

Location

  • This position is located in Mobile, AL

Travel

  • There is up to 40% domestic and international travel associated with this position.
