A large, established and reputable law firm is seeking to add an experienced Legal Practice Assistant to their team. The ideal candidate will work well independently in a very fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform complex administrative duties requiring knowledge of legal terminology and legal processes
- Prepare, edit, and proof contracts, agreements, motions, pleadings, wills, trusts, memos, correspondence and other similar documents and reports
- File documents in probate/district/state/federal court
- Schedule and coordinate logistics for meetings and travel
- Maintain calendars including deadlines and appearances
- Enter billable time and edit time and pre-bills
- Process expense reimbursements
- Answer incoming calls
- Respond to inquiries for information
- Prepare documents for shipment and distribute mail
- Open and maintain client files and organizational documents
Requirements:
- At least two years of experience as a legal secretary/assistant in a law firm or corporate legal department environment; experience in wills, estates, trusts, and probate preferred
- Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and ability to type 50 wpm
- Highly organized, detail-orientated, proactive with a desire to take ownership as a contributing member of the team
- Balance competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment, exercising patience and professionalism during stressful situations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Compensation: $55,000 - $70,000
