Senior System Engineer – Automation & Orchestration

Our client is seeking a Senior System Engineer to join their forward-thinking architecture and engineering team and play a key role in driving automation, orchestration, and operational excellence across both on-premise and cloud environments.

As a Senior System Engineer, you will serve as a technical lead on high-impact projects, collaborating with key stakeholders to architect and implement solutions using best-in-class technologies. You’ll manage critical infrastructure, modernize systems through automation, and ensure solutions are resilient, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

This role is ideal for a subject matter expert who thrives on solving complex challenges, driving innovation, and guiding future technology strategies.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage, troubleshoot, and maintain critical infrastructure supporting employees and members.
• Lead major business-wide and IS projects, ensuring systems meet performance and business requirements.
• Architect and maintain Microsoft Active Directory across multiple sites.
• Manage and optimize a multi-site VMware vSphere environment.
• Design hybrid system solutions integrating on-premises and cloud capabilities (AWS/Azure).
• Support and influence design decisions for cloud-hosted virtual desktop environments.
• Drive automation, process refinement, and elimination of technical debt.
• Partner with vendors to resolve software issues and communicate resolutions to stakeholders.
• Design and maintain disaster recovery systems to meet uptime and compliance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5–10+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer or similar role.
• Be an expert in Windows Server, Active Directory, IIS, VMware vSphere, and systems architecture.
• Advanced experience with AWS or Azure and hybrid environments.
• A strong understanding of networking (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, subnetting).
• Advanced scripting and automation skills (PowerShell or equivalent).
• Experience with DevOps tools, Infrastructure-as-Code, and Linux administration.
• Familiarity with Atlassian Jira/Confluence and agile methodologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems (preferred).
