Position Summary

With our client's dynamic growth over the past 5 years, the company requires a Manager of Information Technology in our Raleigh, NC headquarters. The Manager of IT will work with the leadership team and business units to develop industry leading IT platforms throughout the organization. The Manager of IT participates in and contributes to the overall enterprise business model and business strategy development. The Manager of IT brings a current knowledge and future vision of leveraging information and technology in business model design, business capability performance re-engineering, product and service development, and support for developing a competitive advantage within our industry.

Key Job Responsibilities 

  • · Develop and lead the IT strategic plan and roadmap. Ensures integration with the enterprise’s strategic planning process, and the resulting business strategy and plans.
  • · Acts as a trusted advisor to ensure all business units make confident decisions about the application of information technology and applications.
  • · Ensures IT capabilities are delivered reliably, sustainably, cost effectively and securely. Ensures the IT contributions are delivered with agility based on changing business objectives, goals and strategies.
  • · Directs the design and implementation of IT operating models. Works with purchasing to deliver company accepted specs for various hardware components
  • · Collaborates with executive leadership and business partners to define and execute the digital business strategy. Participates in and contributes to the assessment of external digital opportunities and threats, and internal technology capabilities required to achieve desired competitive positioning.
  • · Provides direction on what emerging technologies should be assimilated, integrated and introduced within the organization to ensure IT capabilities respond to the needs of the enterprise’s digital business strategy. Provides strategic direction in the IT organization’s innovation efforts and role in experimenting with new solutions to take advantage of those opportunities in the fulfillment of the enterprise’s digital business strategy.
  • · Provides strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and support of IT systems and programs that fulfill the needs of the business, including enterprise architecture management, application management, security and risk management, and infrastructure and operations support management.
  • Develops and controls annual IT operating and capital expenditure budget to ensure the investment in technologies is consistent with the organizations overall strategic objectives and is within annual operating plan.
  • · Develops and maintains an IT workforce with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, technical skills and competencies.
  • · Ensures employees have the tools and work environment to be more engaged, productive and effective.
  • Drives the development of enterprise technology standards, governance, processes and performance metrics to ensure IT delivers value to the organization
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and direction to the IT leadership team and staff.

 

Job Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Business, Accounting. MBA preferred . IT Certifications preferred

Experience

  • 5-10 years or more of process of Information Technology experience.
  • Five to seven years of senior leadership responsibilities.
  • Preferably five or more years of experience in related, industry-leading, cross-functional teams or enterprise-wide programs, influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.
  • Preferably proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading complex and or transformational initiatives in dynamic environments and taking advantage of digital opportunities to innovate business models and enable the digitalization of the business.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate vision that inspires and motivates staff.
  • Ability to form and maintain alliances and networks with company division leaders. Solicit advice, support, sponsorship, and commitment from them that results in smooth transitions for changes and development of mutually accepted solutions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and instill confidence with peers and all key stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills.
  • Strong business acumen, including industry, domain-specific knowledge of the enterprise and its business units.
  • Solid understanding with budgeted planning
  • Deep understanding of current and emerging technologies and how other enterprises are employing them to drive digital business and how they may be applied to the enterprise to drive digital business.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a strategic people plan that ensures that the right people are in the right roles at the right time and that employees are highly engaged and satisfied.
  • Ability to drive organizational change and build capabilities that effectively balance the needs for continuously exploiting capabilities to optimize operational efficiency, with delivering innovative and agile IT solutions to enable the business to explore digital business opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to the IT workforce.
