  • Identify consulting opportunities and provide efficient and effective support, preparing studies of tax implications and offers clients alternative courses of action
  • Plan the tax process and procedures and ensure ongoing quality, compliance and accurate completion
  • Coordinate engagements from onset and properly communicate all procedures and expectations with reviewer and preparer
  • Meet internal deadlines and match client expectations, ensuring timely delivery of service
  • While minimizing tax and reporting burdens, ensure that clients are aware of all applicable authority regulations and ensure ongoing internal Firm standards compliance
  • Conduct detailed reviews on all returns and prepare appropriate notes for preparer training and raise any potential tax issues immediately – review and resolve
  • Assist in developing and implementing efficient and effective methods that maximize client benefits and decrease client’s current and future taxes
  • Gather required information for controversy work and document all significant tax positions in accordance with Firm policies


  • Participate in efforts to improve the firm’s tax return processing and staff training
  • May supervise and manage the day-to-day work assignments of Tax Associates
  • Provides verbal and written performance feedback to Tax Associates
  • Acts as mentor to Tax Associates


  • Solid verbal and written communication skills with ability to professionally correspond with Firm clients
  • Able to prepare complex tax returns, taking appropriate action and seeking advice of superiors with compliance related concerns
  • Ability to effectively delegate work as needed and train and guide staff
  • Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills
  • Microsoft Office Tools (semi-advanced Excel) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Tax research database experience such as BNA and RIA
  • Experience with CCH ProsystemFx Suite preferred


  • Bachelor’s in Accounting is required + Master’s in Accountancy or Tax (preferred)
  • Active CPA is highly desired
  • 5 – 7 years of prior tax experience in a public accounting firm
  • Corporate taxation and partnerships, particularly with pass-through entities
  • Individual returns and tax planning, especially for high-net-worth individuals
  • Prior experience preparing and reviewing of tax provisions preferred
  • Basic prior supervisory experience
