Our Client is a Construction and Engineering client that specializes in ground and foundation projects.
The equipment operator will operate several types of construction equipment such as front-end loaders, bulldozers, trench excavators, backhoes, and skid steers to handle materials and grade.
—Learn and follow safety regulations.
—Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects
—Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met
—Start engines, move throttles, switches, or levers, or depress pedals to operate machines, such as bulldozers, trench excavators, road graders, or backhoes
—Operate heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
—Clean, maintain and secure equipment as necessary
—Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members
—Load and move dirt, rocks, equipment, or other materials, using trucks, crawler tractors, excavators, front end loaders, skid steers or related equipment
—Check fuel supplies at sites to ensure adequate availability
—Other site activities to ensure a good flow of progress is being made at the work site
—Must be able to pass construction equipment operator qualification testing/observation.
—Must be drug free; honest; trustworthy; respectful; demonstrate sound work ethics and learn new skills
—Ability to follow safety regulations, follow instructions and meet set standards; judge distances and slopes accurately; make decisions based on verifiable standards
—Work in dusty or dirty surroundings
—Must be able to stoop, bend, and crouch; use hands, arms and legs fully
—Good vision and hearing (either naturally or with correction)
—Able to lift up to 80 pounds with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing 50 pounds or less.
—Must be available to travel out of town Monday-Friday, as needed (per diem provided}
—Must have valid Drivers License/CDL a plus
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
—Five+ years of experience preferred
Location: Greenville, SC
Compensation: $16-$20 per hour (based on experience)
