We are engaged with a high growth organization looking to bring on a tech savvy Deputy General Counsel who will report to the Chief Legal Officer and maintain responsibility for litigation and commercial work for the corporation. This company is a privately held, multistate organization and is based in the Alpharetta/Duluth GA area.

The Deputy General Counsel should be a solid team player and will have a top tier firm background as well as corporate experience. This is an on-site, in the office position and he or she will partner with external firms to develop cases and go to trial when needed. A very strong direct litigation background is required. The position will involve crafting commercial documents, reviewing and drafting/editing contracts and working to develop cases. The candidate selected must have the bandwidth to handle multiple pieces and types of litigation, in addition to a heavy load of commercial work while meeting tight deadlines and producing excellent work.

Out of state travel is required, as needed. This position offers the opportunity for career succession.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advising executive members on new laws, existing laws and legal rights that would impact functionality of the business
  • Overseeing legal matters of the business, including acting as the business' legal representative
  • Maintaining knowledge of the company's legal documents and operations
  • Crafting and reviewing legal strategy in response to any litigation
  • Keeping record of all legal documents and proceedings
  • Facilitating filings of licensing forms and other statutory requirements
  • Partnering with outside counsel
  • Legally filing for copyright of intellectual property

REQUIREMENTS

  • State bar – active membership in good standing
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive responsibility in the practice of law
  • Strong litigation background – combination of senior counsel and support experience
  • Demonstrated and verifiable reputation for integrity
  • No history of disciplinary offense as an attorney or in any other capacity
  • Strong technical and software skills required

Compensation range aligns with local market and salary offered will be commensurate with experience.
