We are seeking an Accounting Manager in the Lynchburg, VA area. This opportunity offers a hybrid (remote & office) working environment. This Accounting Manager applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
REQUIREMENTS
— Must be located in Lynchburg, VA or able to fully relocate to the area (relocation can be provided).
— Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
— Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required. (Exceptions: please apply if you are almost about to complete your CPA, must be at least 50% completed - two passed exams).
RESPONSIBILITIES
— Supervises and manages work for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
— Maintains, reconciles, and analyzes general ledger account balances and prepares analysis schedules
— Prepares monthly management reports analyzing company trends
— Reviews all general ledger entries for payroll expenses and liabilities
— Serves as the primary back up for processing payroll
— Reviews and analyzes financial statements for accuracy, budget variances, and unusual trends and assists in reporting to management
— Coordinates the annual budget process
— Assists with month-end and year end close process and financial statement preparation
— Assists with daily corporate cash management activities
— Assists and provides support for external audits
— Assists with management questions concerning financial results
— Coordinates benefit related audits, 401k and workers compensation
— Completes routine and special accounting projects and assignments
SKILLS & ABILITIES
— Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
— Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
— Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
— Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, co-workers, customers, and vendors.
— Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume will be needed.
— Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
— Proficient computer skills with a solid understanding of Microsoft office, especially spreadsheets and reporting tools.
