Security Systems Estimator Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently completing the low voltage system estimating lifecycle process from beginning to end, including timelines, deadlines, and estimating packages.
• Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required content of project estimates. Perform necessary research to produce accurate, complete, and competitive pricing.
• Reviewing all project requirements and specifications when preparing estimates and proposals.
• Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work using estimating software.
• Determine any risks related to the estimate and include in project proposals.
• Ensure that estimates and proposals are complete, well-organized, and ready for review before the given deadline.
• Prepare project proposals and participate in pre-bid review process where necessary.
• Maintain files of working documents as back-ups.
• Partner with our operations teams to properly transfer awarded projects.
• Develop and maintain customer relationships.
• Communicate with customers to properly define the project scope and address design issues/deficiencies.
  
  

Requirements:

• Three plus years of experience as an Estimator in the low voltage system construction industry.
• Low Voltage System experience and design-build.
• Strong technical understanding of materials and methods used in the installation of security system projects preferred.
• Able to read blueprints, technical drawings, and diagrams; and follow specifications.
• Able to complete project bidding in an efficient and cost-effective manner, with a strong focus on quality.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment with deadlines that need to be met.
• Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, estimating software and Construction Management platforms.
• AutoCAD experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.

Salary Range:

• $75,000 per year – $95,000 per year
