AV Sales Engineer

General Responsibilities:

• Provide support to Sales by verifying designs and engineering work, as assigned. This includes the conceptualization and creation of project design documentation packages based on proposals, sales information, and initial meetings with clients.
• Maintain and update all pertinent plans and documentation for projects.  Documents include, but are not limited to AV plans, wire schedule, dimensions list, elevation, cabinet/rack drawings, functional schematics, electrical specifications, wire scaling information and/or hookup diagrams.
• Ensure the timely completion and delivery of project documents necessary to communicate to internal personnel, which include intended wiring design, layout, appearance, and programming requirements of individual components of the project.
• Maintain proactive and regular communication, verbally and in writing, with project representatives to keep them informed about technical aspects of the project, including, but not limited to CRM updates and part lead times.
• Partner with field personnel for site verifications to generate custom data for purchase orders.
• Provide technical sales support to sales team members and project stakeholders.
• Attend site walks and client consultation meetings as necessary; regularly meet with Sales, General Contractors, Designers for project details.
• Stay current on technical and industry trends that may affect system designs, such as the emergence of new technologies and product lines.

  Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in commercial electronic systems design and field installation.  

• Extensive knowledge of device configuration, automated electronic systems, and the ability to read drawings and technical schematics/prints.

• Ability to conceptualize technical component interactions and installation environments to ensure a functional design prior to physical installation.

• Thorough understanding of rack elevations and ability to build both virtually and physically.

             Ability to perform calculations, analyze reports, and engage in strategic and creative problem               solving.

• Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in D-Tools, Visio, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suites.
