Industrial Regional Sales Manager

This is an opportunity to join a growing and profitable business with a diverse and established team of sales professionals. The Regional Sales Manager will plan, direct, and execute the established sales plan to achieve maximum sales volume and market share in their respective territories. This position will also be responsible for managing, leading and working with our independent sales representatives, distributors, OEM’s and end users. The position will report to the Director of Sales and Marketing and ideally will live within the Midwest Territory.

 

Overview:

The position requires connecting with people quickly in an outgoing, friendly manner. The successful candidate will have a sense of urgency, combined with getting work done in complete, accurate detail, with the ability to drive results. The candidate must have the ability to sell ideas to others, with the ability to train, teach, and motivate the sales representatives in their assigned territory. The successful candidate must also be able to work in a team environment and interact with all facets of the organization to make decisions that benefit the organization as a whole.

Sales / Management Skills:

  • Direct, coordinate and manage all sales activities in the territory.

  • Achieve maximum sales volume and market share within profitability thresholds.

  • Coordinate with all support sales groups within the company.

  • Analyze sales data to determine sales strategy for the territory.

  • Identify new product/feature opportunities offering competitive advantages and refine the marketing specifications (feature content, cost targets, etc.).

  • Identify and develop (with Product Development Manager and Marketing Manager) appropriate sales tools, collaterals and other brand enhancing material/activities.

  • Be able to read, negotiate and drive customer contracts to acceptable resolution, with the help of appropriate management and legal resources.

  • Promote and execute corporate sales and marketing plans as determined by the company.

  • Interpersonal Skills

  • Interact with all facets of the organization to achieve departmental and overall organizational goals.

  • Coordinate multiple resources to successfully drive and close sales on new and existing accounts.

  • Resolve problems with customers and sales representatives as they arise.

  • Budgets and Reporting

  • Establish high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in planning, and forecasting.

  • Assign sales force/rep quotas and provide direction and assistance to the sales representatives to meet those quotas.

  • Education, Training and Trends

  • Institute programs for the continual training and improvement of all sales representatives.

  • Stay abreast of customer, market and technology trends as they relate to current and future business opportunities.

 

Budgets and Reporting

 

  • Establish high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in planning, and forecasting.

  • Assign sales force/rep quotas and provide direction and assistance to the sales representatives to meet those quotas.

  • Education, Training and Trends

  • Institute programs for the continual training and improvement of all sales representatives.

  • Stay abreast of customer, market and technology trends as they relate to current and future business opportunities.

  • Participate in appropriate associations to further strengthen relationships in the industry.

  • Understand and reinforce the Thermal Care mission statement and values to internal and external customers;

 

Requirements

 

 

Qualifications and Work Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or technical discipline and/or ten (10)+ years of direct work experience without formal education is required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of applicable industrial sales/marketing experience selling capital equipment.

  • Experience managing a group of independent sales representative organizations a definite plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal and leaderships skills.

  • Technical aptitude.

  • Exceptional verbal and writing skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Solid working knowledge of other functional areas within a manufacturing organization (manufacturing, engineering, finance, etc.)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Ideal Candidate would reside on the West Coast.
