Position Summary
The Operations Team Lead is responsible for leading the operations team, ensuring efficient operation in achieving business targets. This role is required to have experience in manufacturing or packaging environments.
This position is in a fast-paced environment and requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and strives to increase efficiencies without compromising quality or safety. It supports, encourages, and complies with all company policies and procedures and ensures the team follows safe practices and produces a high-quality product.
Roles & Responsibilities
Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Foster and support a High-Performance culture; help build and promote a strong “Teamwork” environment across all shifts
All food safety and quality issues must be reported immediately to the QA Manager and Plant Director.
Monitors and audit plant production metrics to ensure alignment with the production schedule.
Communicates the long-term vision, sets the daily morale of the team, and leads by example.
Maintains the flow of processes and makes suggestions for efficiency within the organization.
Advises, assists, and instructs associates in all aspects of work and the safe operation of the equipment and machinery necessary for their position.
Assigns tasks and schedules priorities to achieve the most outstanding production with the best efficiency.
Facilitates communication with, associates, and managers for successful collaboration and accountability.
Manage the performance of direct reports through performance reviews, frequent discussions, coaching, and career development action plans.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment (required)
Be organized, able to multi-task and prioritize
Possess knowledge and understanding of supervisory practices and principles
Have experience or certification in SQF, GMP and HACCP, regulated industries
Possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
Must be flexible and willing to work overtime as required
Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and embrace change while proactively making sound decisions
