Empire Staffing Network is seeking a Quality Control candidate with a background in Welding for our client based out of Gurnee, IL. 

As a QA/QC Technician your key responsibilities will be to plan and monitor strategic projects and programs from initiation through completion. In addition, secures required resources and uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, risk and changes.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect / review material and documents MTR, weld quality and testing to ensure compliance with Code, Standards, Specifications

• Review and check work of welders during fabrication establishing layout, fit-up and weld out inspection

• Inspect and check-off work orders for fabricated parts. Communicate with shop supervisor when jobs are ready to be send to weld

• Perform incoming inspections regarding receiving plate and heads, ensuring all plate is marked with heat codes and necessary information

• Coordinate grind, clean and test for all vessels ensuring all proper procedures and material are used for specific job specifications

• Inspect / review material and documents MTR, weld quality and testing to ensure compliance with Code, Standards, Specifications as stated on jobs.

• Review Drawings to ensure appropriate WPS are referenced with weld details and followed on the floor with the help of the shop supervisor.

• Report to QA /QC manager or Sr. Lead engineer on a timely basis and write journals on a daily basis.

What You Will Need to Succeed:

• Previous welding experience

• Basic computer skills

• Experience with inspection tools (caliper, tape measurer, micrometer etc.)

• Confidence in inspecting welds. We weld FCAW, SAW, GTAW primarily

• Confidence in interpreting prints and knowledge of GD&T

• Ability to communicate to a wide range of people including, customers, welders, and management.

• Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail
