We are seeking a Tool Room Attendant for our direct-hire on 2nd shift role in Waukegan, IL
Overview:
This role supports the production floor by gathering, presetting, handing out, and putting away tools as needed.
General Duties:
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must have knowledge of and know how to use measuring equipment.
• Must have knowledge of machine tools and machining operations.
• Responsible for pulling and presetting tools in advance for the production floor.
• Responsible for inspecting his or her work.
• Responsible for handing out tools to operators on the production floor as needed.
• Responsible for cleaning, visually inspecting, and putting away tooling and fixtures after use.
• Responsible for letting the supervisor know what tools need to be restocked, remade, or reordered.
• Ability to use floor terminals to perform job tasks such as reviewing work instructions and drawings.
• Keep the work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Understand and follow all safety rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Capable of reading and interpreting documents such as standardized work and safety rules.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Proficiency in basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
• Ability to use a good degree of manual dexterity & ability to produce various models in a cell
environment.
• Ability to work on a team and use problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a controlled environment.
Preferred:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One to three years of assembly experience.
