We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill the direct-hire CNC Operator role for one of our clients based out of Waukegan, IL. 

Position Overview:

The CNC Machine Operator performs duties to setup and operate CNC machines (multi-axis lathes, grinders, vertical machining centers, etc.) Requires knowledge of machining techniques and methods such as boring, milling, drilling, facing, threading, tapping, and measuring to produce close tolerance parts of varied materials.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Follow machine setup instructions to produce parts within specification within specified

times.

2. Check in-process parts for conformance to specifications; adjust machine and tooling to

maintain run within control limits.

3. Measure parts with appropriate precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers,

and gauges.

4. Maintain the run by loading and unloading parts and raw material; checking coolant

levels; replacing chip bins; etc.

5. Communicate to Team Lead discrepancies, or problems with equipment, material,

tooling, or operating procedures.

6. Completely debur, pack, and move completed parts.

7. Use floor terminals to report work as performed in real time.

8. Operate more than one machine simultaneously.

9. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.

10. Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Abilities:

1. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance

instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence.

2. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

3. Ability to convert between metric and imperial units.

4. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in

written, oral, or diagram form.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. At least 2 years related experience.
