Empire Staffing Network is seeking a qualified candidate for our Assistant Operations Manager position for our clients in Wauconda, IL.
Responsibilities:
? Manage the following positions (coaching, mentoring, disciplinary action, terminating and hiring additions/ replacements as required):construction, maintenance and irrigation superintendents
o Conduct performance reviews; manage labor compensation rates, rate increases, and promotion of and termination of production staff.
o Set global expectations for customer service, quality, and the importance of on-going training, teamwork and professionalism.
? Order or delegate ordering of all materials for work functions.
? Make certain all materials are staged in the appropriate bins 24 hours prior to the crew needing them.
? Negotiate vendor payment terms when necessary (always try asking for a lower price).
? Manage subcontractor relationships or delegate. Make certain that the office secures a negotiated subcontractor agreement.
? Management of all production jobs at budget.
? Continue to institute the LMN implementation for Time and Scheduling.
? Use information from job costs to create meaningful feedback loops to production, estimating and sales staff.
For construction jobs evaluations might have to be done daily / weekly.
? Timely and accurate paperwork to accounting for both the operations manager and staff.

? Develop departmental budgets (DJV will prepare first draft)
? Review monthly financial statements and make necessary course corrections throughout the season to hit budget. Examples may include: Notifying sales staff of any work backlog shortages, evaluate purchasing and crew productivity, reduce /increase work force.
? Monthly review of job cost reports…have to ask controller for these
