Structural Engineer / Senior Structural Engineer

Our structural team provides structural evaluation, design, and construction phase services to private and public-sector clients. We have two goals: design a structure so it fulfills a specific purpose while remaining safe, economical, and functioning throughout its intended lifetime, and value our clients’ schedules and budgets through open and honest communication and internal practices that simplify the process.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate multiple projects and work with staff and sub-consultants.
  • Coordinate and manage client requests and needs.
  • Apply technical knowledge of structural engineering principles.
  • Serve as a technical advisor to other staff.
  • Review design and production deliverables ensuring industry standard of care and compliance with our firm’s standards and policies.

  • Emerging Technology Facilities
  • Commercial/Industrial/Manufacturing Non-Building Structures
  • Bridge and Transportation Structures
  • Construction Support for Contractors and Owners
  • Condition Evaluations
  • Tenant Improvement Designs
  • Seismic Evaluations
  • Structural Observation
  • Vulnerability Studies
  • Vaults, Walls, and Tanks
  • Water/Wastewater Structures

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, technically knowledgeable structural engineer with strong communication skills and a can-do attitude. Someone who is happy to be part of a thriving team who is actively planning and delivering creative designs and solutions.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science - Civil Engineering
  • Masters in Structural a plus
  • Oregon State SE required or ability to obtain within six months
  • 8+ years of experience in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • 2+ years of project management of small projects

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Washington and/or California SE registration preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Steel Design
  • The ability to communicate and effectively participate as part of an engineering team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated team leadership and supervisory skills
  • Demonstrated business development and client management experience
  • Team Player and active mentor
  • Two years of project management of medium to large projects
  • Help to build positive and collaborative relationships
  • Manage multiple priorities
