Project Manager

The ideal candidate will have strong work plan development and progress oversight skills. They will be expected to prepare and present progress updates to appropriate management channels on a regular basis, ensuring goals are achieved. They will be expected grow professionally and contribute to the team in positive and meaningful ways.

Objectives of this Role

  • Lead multiple projects from “Bid Won” through “Punch”, identifying schedules, budget, and project implementation plans, including risk mitigation
  • To coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects are delivered on time and under budget while collaborating with all functional departments
  • Analyze project progress and, when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and costs to ensure that project team adheres to project requirements
  • Establish and maintain relationships with client, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes

 

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with estimators, engineers, architects, vendors, and production personnel to responsibly and efficiently complete projects on time
  • Identify and develop plans to reduce or remove risks throughout project timelines
  • Review updated project documentation and manage CORs through estimating
  • Issue and follow up on RFIs to ensure project deliverables are met
  • Monitor progress of project tasks to ensure smooth flow through production
  • Maintain processes to manage scope over project lifecycles
  • Ensure product and project quality and performance standards are met
  • Monitor and assign resources appropriately to streamline project efficiency and maximize deliverable outputs
  • Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels, escalating issues as necessary based on project work plans
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with co-workers, customers, and vendors to foster longterm confidence and trust.
  • Continually develop relationships with clients

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Thorough understanding of and experience with architectural millwork
  • Expert level understanding and utilization of project management tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • 3+ years project management experience
  • Hands-on experience with multimillion-dollar millwork or construction projects
  • Proven success working with all levels of management
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Exceptional time management skills, ability to estimate work effort and time needed for various project tasks
  • Deep understanding of construction methods
  • Excellent understanding of contracts and blueprints
  • Adept at reviewing project documentation and identifying scope changes
  • Ability to work closely and effectively with construction site personnel
  • Problem-solving skills to address delays, emergencies, or other issues
  • Great sense of customer service
  • Ability to professionally manage urgent matters as they arise
  • Effectively coordinate efforts to successfully address challenges in schedule, engineering, manufacturing, and installation
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in the field of project, construction, or manufacturing management
  • Professional Project Management certification
  • Previous success in millwork manufacturing and installation
  • Experienced with ERP systems and developing internal processes
  • Experience coaching and educating project teams to strengthen team members’ capabilities and skill sets.
