SUMMARY
Great opportunity for a Plant Manager or Sr. Production Manager to build out team for a global petrochemical, fine chemical, and food ingredients manufacturing company in West Virginia! Relocation assistance provided.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Production Head of a large US-based chemical manufacturing company is responsible for overseeing the entire production process, ensuring that operations run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.
- This role involves managing production teams, optimizing manufacturing processes, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the production of high-quality chemical products.
- The Production Head works closely with other departments, such as R&D, quality control, logistics, and supply chain, to align production goals with overall business objectives.
- The role also requires a strong focus on continuous improvement, cost management, safety protocols, and meeting customer demands while maintaining profitability.
- The Production Head must possess strong leadership abilities, deep technical knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes, and a thorough understanding of safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- This role requires an individual who can balance operational efficiency with strategic thinking, as well as maintain a commitment to high standards of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering/chemistry with proven experience of at least 25 years in Fine Chemical and/or Petrochemical Plants with complex operations involving Continuous and Batch processes and unit operations including batch and continuous manufacturing, reaction engineering, distillation, filtration, heating/cooling, crystallization, drying and mixing processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage manufacturing costs and site overheads.
- Extensive experience in the chemical manufacturing sector, including familiarity with the specific challenges, regulatory requirements, and safety concerns associated with chemicals, petrochemicals, or specialty chemicals.
- Understanding of the chemical supply chain, including raw material procurement, inventory management, and logistics, to optimize production operations.
- Relevant certifications in safety management, quality control, or manufacturing management, (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, ISO, or PMP) are highly valued.
- The ideal candidate will have a track record of achieving production targets, improving processes, and ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.
