RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage all aspects of a Quality Control Lab with three Technicians on a 24 x 5 schedule.
• Train QC Lab Technicians to safely perform required quality testing procedures.
• Ensure calibration of all required lab and production instruments used to measure quality.
• Lead cross-functional teams to perform root cause analysis & corrective actions.
• Implement new procedures to reduce the occurrence and severity of nonconforming products.
• Train\ production operators to ensure quality procedures are understood and followed
• Perform internal audits of all departments to ensure written procedures are followed.
• Collaborate with Business Unit Managers to manage the customer complaint process.
• Collaborate with the Materials Manager and Planner to manage on-hold material.
• Use available data to identify, quantify, and prioritize quality improvement opportunities.
• Apply continuous improvement tools (i.e., LEAN, Six Sigma, and others) to lead quality and productivity improvement projects.

REQUIREMENTS

• BS degree in Engineering or 10 years as a Quality or Manufacturing Manager or Engineer.
• Coating, drying, mixing, and web converting process/equipment background is ideal
• Quality Management Systems expertise (ISO9000, IATF16949, AS9100).
• Proven team player who works with others to develop creative, innovative solutions.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively train and influence others.
• Commitment to excellence, high standards and acute attention to detail.
• Proven project management skills to define workflow, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
• Proven track record using LEAN/Kaizen principles, problem solving techniques and leading corrective actions.
