RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage all aspects of a Quality Control Lab with three Technicians on a 24 x 5 schedule.
- Train QC Lab Technicians to safely perform required quality testing procedures.
- Ensure calibration of all required lab and production instruments used to measure quality.
- Lead cross-functional teams to perform root cause analysis & corrective actions.
- Implement new procedures to reduce the occurrence and severity of nonconforming products.
- Train\ production operators to ensure quality procedures are understood and followed
- Perform internal audits of all departments to ensure written procedures are followed.
- Collaborate with Business Unit Managers to manage the customer complaint process.
- Collaborate with the Materials Manager and Planner to manage on-hold material.
- Use available data to identify, quantify, and prioritize quality improvement opportunities.
- Apply continuous improvement tools (i.e., LEAN, Six Sigma, and others) to lead quality and productivity improvement projects.
REQUIREMENTS
- BS degree in Engineering or 10 years as a Quality or Manufacturing Manager or Engineer.
- Coating, drying, mixing, and web converting process/equipment background is ideal
- Quality Management Systems expertise (ISO9000, IATF16949, AS9100).
- Proven team player who works with others to develop creative, innovative solutions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively train and influence others.
- Commitment to excellence, high standards and acute attention to detail.
- Proven project management skills to define workflow, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
- Proven track record using LEAN/Kaizen principles, problem solving techniques and leading corrective actions.
