Overview:

The Director of Manufacturing Operations is an exciting and pivotal role will work collaboratively to provide the manufacturing and operations vision, direction and expertise for the company.

  • This includes leading the overall manufacturing operations, supply chain, and process quality functions.
  • Through relentless innovation and by doing business in alignment with our core values, the client has grown to become a leading supplier of a niche industrial segment

Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Leadership, Supply Chain & Procurement, Process and Vendor Quality

  • Lead, manage and hold the operations team accountable for achieving agree-upon commitments.
  • Act as the operations culture champion cascading organization’s core values and strong operational qualities (safety, TPS, continuous improvement, etc)
  • Provide the manufacturing vision, expertise, and direction for the company
  • Drive and implement Toyota Production System initiatives throughout operations
  • Identify, recommend, and lead assembly process improvements
  • Oversees and manages the supply chain and procurement function
  • Guide and continuously improve our procurement processes
  • Strengthens and builds upon key vendor relationships
  • Collaborate with sales to strategically forecast inventory needs and develop long-term supply chain strategies
  • Oversee the manufacturing process quality and vendor quality function
  • Guide and continuously improve our quality system and processes to ensure consistent and high manufacturing and vendor quality
  • Lead ISO compliance, recertification, and initiatives

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience as a Director of Operations (or similar) in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience leading operations in a manufacturing company through high growth
  • Experience as a lead decision maker in the implementation of manufacturing processes
  • Toyota Production Systems / Lean manufacturing experience
  • Strong analytical, innovative, and critical thinking skills
  • Desire to be a part of a hardworking, collaborative, fun and values-driven team
  • Proven track record of clear communications with senior leadership and across cross-functional teams
  • Data-driven methodology for decision making using KPIs and metrics
  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate teams across a variety of functional roles
