The Principal Consultant role will be an incredibly strategic individual who plays a critical role in the elevation of the firm's banking engagements as they are activating our expertise into POV's & solutions and building customer confidence, The expectation is that 50% of this individual’s time is billable to the client.
The ideal candidate will make immediate client impact and enable the development of our emerging Strategic Advisory Practice, specifically in the Banking sub-vertical.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Client’s strategic advisory and consulting for the banking practice, enabling the growth of the practice by formulating and presenting our banking Point of View and strategic framework as part of pre-sales motions and strategic banking discovery (SBD).
- Drive Strategic Program Investment (SPI)opportunities for key accounts - new accounts and existing projects in flight. This can enabled and requested from sales or delivery consulting leadership and may be non-billable at times
- Strategize and drive the overall growth of Banking sub-vertical; this includes engaging in billable Strategy & Advisory engagements to create aligned roadmaps combining executive goals, business strategy and technology solutions
- Support pre-sales activities to assess client need and support pre-sales team in creating solution approach and estimates
- Ensure client buy-in, alignment and understanding of proposals, estimates, solutions and related roadmaps
- Provide expert-level consultation and point of view on specific industry trends and challenges for internal and client stakeholders
- Identify and support the enablement of industry offerings to meet common client challenges; coordinate with leadership to gain buy-in of offerings
- Provide expertise, coaching and education to project teams within the Banking sub-vertical; coordinate with delivery account leadership to ensure solution
- Support GTM team in developing white papers, blogs, points-of-view and marketing activities targeted to Banking sub-vertical
- Build trusted advisor relationships with client leadership within key accounts to help foster account growth and success
- Work with PS leadership to successfully help teams understand client business objectives, success metrics and other KPIs
- Responsible for Banking Advisory Council oversight including the development of the council, guiding principles and rules of engagement
Key Activities
- Define, create, present and deliver our Banking POV & roadmap as well as enabling other key roles (i.e. SEM, FA, Sales) in strategic customer projects as either a paid engagement or as a strategic project investment
- Drive Strategic Banking Discovery (SBD) sessions with key customers during this critical phase of the engagement. In this role, the PC will present and deliver our Banking POV & roadmap as well as enabling other key roles (i.e. SEM, FA, Sales) in the client success engagement strategy.
- Support pre-sales activities in support of new accounts as well as expansion of current accounts
- Architect business processes to support digital transformation efforts for clients across Banking sub-verticals
- Facilitate customer workshops to build trust, identify pain points and build consensus
- Identify and recommend process change and technology improvements to support business outcomes
- Develop client-facing deliverables to drive meaningful discussions and demonstrate value
- Utilize and develop decision making frameworks to build alignment across varying sizes of engagements
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience working in the Banking sub-vertical, in both Retail and Commercial as well as on consulting engagements within the Financial Services vertical
- 8+ years experience in Salesforce and related technologies either in consulting or implementation in a business solution design capacity
- 5+ years in consulting, leading teams and clients
- Demonstrated execution of digital transformation activities
- Executive-level communication skills with effective presentation skills and the ability to adapt to diverse range of audiences, specifically influencing executive-level management
- Proven leadership experience including the ability to engage with C-level decision makers, influence decisions and gain alignment
- Understanding of the consulting space, including customer success, profitability and client account growth
- Ability to work and collaborate across with all levels and roles within an organization
- Proven experience of delivering strategic initiatives
- Ability to travel to clients as required
- Is comfortable with the overuse of GIFs on Slack (no, seriously, we send a lot of GIFs)
