Job Description:

As a Licensed Master Social Worker specializing in Community Integration Counseling (CIC), you will play a crucial role in helping our waiver participants navigate the emotional complexities associated with disability adjustment. This position primarily involves providing counseling services either in our office or the waiver participant's home. CIC is a short-term intervention designed to assist individuals coping with altered abilities, revised expectations, or changing roles in relation to significant others.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with waiver participants to address emotional and psychological challenges related to disability adjustment.

  2. Provide CIC services to individuals and significant others involved in an ongoing relationship with the waiver participant, focusing on issues directly related to the participant.

  3. Occasionally facilitate family counseling or group counseling sessions when appropriate and beneficial for the participants.

  4. Uphold strict client confidentiality in accordance with federal standards and accepted professional confidentiality guidelines.

  5. Collaborate with other service providers, such as Service Coordinators (SCs), Independent Living Skills Trainers (ILST), and Home and Community Support Services (HCSS), to ensure holistic care and integration for waiver participants.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Social Work and state licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).

  • Knowledge and understanding of the emotional and psychological challenges faced by individuals adjusting to physical or cognitive disabilities.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Sensitivity, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach to counseling.
