Job Title: Bilingual Customer Representative for Hospital (Spanish Speaking)

Location: East Meadow, NY 11554

Education: High School Diploma or GED required
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (8-hour shift)
Pay Rate: $43,000 - $46,000 per year, with an opportunity for a quarterly bonus of up to $500

Job Overview:
A leading healthcare company is seeking a Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) Customer Service Representative to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a background in customer service, with a focus on medical billing and patient communication, and will demonstrate the ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.

Key Working Relationships:
The success of this role depends on establishing and maintaining effective relationships with various internal and external stakeholders. These may include interdepartmental leadership, education and development teams, patients, client hospital staff, government and insurance representatives, vendors, compliance officers, finance, and senior management.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Meet with patients to review and explain outstanding balances.

  • Understand Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and communicate effectively with patients/guarantors.

  • Review patient account notes to identify potential insurance benefits or financial assistance eligibility.

  • Request necessary documents from clients for insurance billing or financial assistance processing.

  • Contact patients to gather additional information needed to complete billing or financial assistance applications.

  • Document and update all required systems efficiently and accurately for each work event.

  • Identify and resolve issues or concerns, referring to management as needed.

  • Comply with company policies and procedures, providing feedback and suggestions for process improvements.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Medical Experience: Practical experience or classroom knowledge in hospital or physician medical billing.

  • Language Skills: Must be bilingual, with the ability to speak Spanish fluently.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

  • Confidentiality: Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality, with knowledge of HIPAA regulations.

  • Teamwork: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Detail-Oriented: Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Attendance: Good attendance record is essential.
