We're looking for an Embedded Software Test Engineer to support the development of software for electromechanical devices. You will be responsible for the planning an execution of tests on real-time embedded software, through the full development life-cycle.
Ths is a direct-hire position with a company offering a mix of challenging projects (on new-to-market systems), stability, and long-term growth potential.
Responsibilities of the Embedded Software Test Engineer:
- Creation and maintenance of test specifications according to the specified test strategy for the test levels
- Planning and execution of software tests
- Evaluation, documentation and reporting of test results, including incident reporting
- Support on the analysis of defects with the project team
- Support on requirement reviews
- Execution of and participation in peer reviews of documents (e.g. test plan, test
- specifications)
- Implementation, documentation and optimization of automated tests and test concepts
- Strong collaboration with the global engineering organization
Qualifications
- BSEE, BSCE, BSME, or BSCS, with 3+ years of experience in automotive software testing/validation
- Strong knowledge of embedded systems (microcontrollers) and electrical instrumentation (power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters).
- Good knowledge of automotive networks (CAN, LIN, etc.) and serial interfaces
- Experience with development tools for software tests in the automotive environment (CANoe, CANape, iSystems Test Idea, Razorcat Tessy, etc.)
- Knowledge of software testing methods (e.g. requirements-based testing, fault injection)
- Knowledge of testing-relevant programming languages (e.g., CAPL, Python and C/C++).
- Knowledge of Automotive SPICE, functional safety (ISO 26262), and/or certification to ISTQB is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
