JOB TITLE: Real Estate Staff Accountant

 

COMPANY BACKGROUND:
A Commercial real estate investment and management office with a portfolio of 38 properties (191 units) is seeking an accountant to assist in managing day-to-day real estate accounting and banking requirements for a portfolio of commercial real estate properties. The position will be an integral part of a growing team and will report directly to the Controller.

OVERALL OBJECTIVES:

  • Responsible for all accounts receivable and accounts payable for a portfolio of industrial, office, and retail properties.
  • Assist Controller with reconciling property operating accounts.
  • Assist Controller with projection of income and cash flow by property, partnership, and partner.
  • Collaborate with asset and property managers to assist with the preparation of annual property-level budgets.
  • Support asset managers and property managers analyzing financial stability of tenants or vendors through their financial statements.
  • Support tax preparations and compliance: work with owner’s tax accounting firm(s) to prepare K1’s, 1099’s, for personal and partnership tax returns.

    SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3-years’ experience in Real Estate Accounting
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • Must have experience with accounting-based property management software. Primary responsibilities will be on Yardi, QuickBooks Online and Excel
  • Self-starter, with the ability to work independently
  • Reliable, organized, and adaptable with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience in Family Office a definite plus

COMPENSATION: Dependent on experience and historical earnings.
