Due to some significant growth our client is looking to add a Senior Accounting Manger to their team. You will join a group of driven, fun-loving co-workers who strive to positively impact their clients’ business by providing timely and accurate accounting reporting so they can focus on the other aspects of making their businesses profitable.

 Responsibilities:

  • Oversee duties and accountabilities of Senior Accountants
  • Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews
  • Address sub-standard work or work that does not meet firm’s/client’s expectations
  • Develop a perspective on key industry trends and how they impact the firm and our clients
  • Manage a portfolio of restaurant clients while understanding the industry, key risks and ways to deliver added value; ensure clients’ needs are met and that relationships and accounts grow and develop
  • Prepare, and discuss, financial reports for clients
  • Ensure timely reporting and payment to all federal and provincial tax and regulatory authorities (i.e. CRA, AB Rev, WCB, PST and AGLC)
  • Exert care and control over assets and records; establish procedures for safeguarding, including security and computer backup
  • Coordinate with auditors and provide documentation as needed
  • Contribute to the preparation of strategic plans
  • Manage Cashflow and Cash Requirements and the oversight of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Assist in maintaining policy and procedure documentation for complex financial and accounting issues
  • Liaise with management staff and advise them on cost management, cost control measures and the cost-effectiveness of their program areas

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a Major in Accounting
  • CPA designation an asset
  • 5+ years' working in accounting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
