Position Overview:
The Practical Nursing Clinical Coordinator oversees the clinical activities of students enrolled in the Practical Nursing
Program. This role includes collaborating with healthcare facilities, scheduling clinical rotations, ensuring clinical
experiences align with curriculum objectives and accreditation standards, and integrating clinical practice with academic
learning. Additionally, the Clinical Coordinator assists in recruiting, selecting, onboarding, and supporting clinical
instructors, including shadowing and ensuring instructor coverage and coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support clinical placements and maintain relationships with clinical sites, including long-term care facilities.
• Schedule clinical rotations, ensuring students receive optimal hands-on experience while complying with program
requirements.
• Communicate with clinical site supervisors and address site-related issues promptly to ensure a smooth learning
experience.
• Ensure clinical experiences align with curriculum goals.
• Guide clinical activities such as simulation exercises and shadow health initiatives.
• Ensure that the facility laboratory and clinical settings meet the requirements necessary to deliver the clinical
component of the practical nursing course.
• Ensure the clinical syllabus is up to date and reflects current nursing practices.
• Assist in the search, interview, and selection process for clinical instructors.
• Provide orientation and guidance to new clinical instructors.
• Ensure clinical instructor coverage and coordination for all clinical rotations.
• Address student concerns about clinical experiences.
• Provide mentorship to students during their clinical placements.
• Ensure all clinical sites meet regulatory and accreditation standards.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical sites, educational staff, and instructors.
• Knowledge of nursing education standards, clinical best practices, and accreditation requirements.
• Ability to travel to clinical sites as needed.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
