Position Summary:
We’re seeking a strategic and hands-on Operations Manager to lead our installation and service operations in the electronic security systems space. This role is responsible for overseeing project execution, quality assurance, cost control, and team development across the organization. You’ll play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, ensuring customer satisfaction, and scaling our field capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Project ManagementLead and manage all aspects of installation and service operations for commercial electronic security systems
Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope and budget, and in compliance with specifications and local codes
Oversee job planning, manpower allocation (internal and subcontracted), material and equipment scheduling, and project re-estimations
Monitor and control costs across field labor, engineering, materials, and subcontractor work
Implement and maintain standard operating procedures, safety programs, and quality control measures
Ensure all out-of-scope work is authorized via properly priced change orders
Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate operations and service personnel
Assign, delegate, and inspect fieldwork, providing hands-on support as needed
Conduct regular performance evaluations and salary planning
Promote a culture of accountability, professional development, and operational ownership
Lead the service department to meet KPIs and enhance customer satisfaction
Develop and implement service quality improvement programs
Act as a key escalation point for client concerns, ensuring effective resolution
Analyze job costing and financial performance using internal reports
Develop forecasts and revenue strategies to ensure profitability and backlog execution
Contribute to the company’s profit plan and oversee operations-related expenses
Qualifications:
Experience & KnowledgeMinimum 5 years' experience in design, installation, and service of commercial electronic security systems
Solid understanding of systems engineering, project management, and system commissioning
Proven ability to interpret financial reports and manage project budgets
Ownership mindset with a track record of successful team and operations leadership
Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Skilled at problem-solving, performance coaching, and conflict resolution
Comfortable working in both strategic and hands-on capacities
Ability to travel between job sites and regional branches as needed
Education & Certifications:
Technical or military electronics training preferred
PMP (Project Management Professional) or CSPM (Certified Security Project Manager) certification is a plus
