We are seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Sales and Application Engineer to engage directly with customers, understand their automation needs, and deliver compelling, customized solution proposals. This role combines technical expertise with strong communication skills to define automation systems using standard and custom components, estimate project costs and timelines, and present value-driven solutions. A solid understanding of manufacturing processes, automation technology, and high-volume production environments is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze customer documentation, including part drawings, layouts, and specifications, to develop tailored automation concepts.
Use SolidWorks and robot simulation tools to visualize and communicate proposed system layouts and cell designs.
Clearly articulate the operation of proposed systems in professional presentations and proposals.
Develop detailed cost estimates for design engineering, components, assembly labor, and commissioning.
Write comprehensive and persuasive technical proposals that highlight solution features and their business benefits.
Collaborate with the global sales team to follow up on outstanding proposals and maintain client engagement.
Qualifications:
Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Excellent technical writing and presentation abilities.
Experience with ERP systems for quoting or project tracking.
Background in mechanical design; controls design experience is a plus.
Experience with robotic simulation modeling is an advantage.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).
Minimum of 1 year of experience in an engineering role focused on automated equipment or high-volume manufacturing.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with ERP software
Proficient in mechanical CAD tools, especially SolidWorks
