Training Manager

We are seeking an energetic and experienced Training Manager to lead the development and implementation of training programs across our quick service restaurant locations. This role is responsible for building a consistent and scalable training framework that supports employee onboarding, operational excellence, customer service, compliance, and leadership development. The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on approach, a deep understanding of Dairy Queen operations, and a passion for developing people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve training programs for team members, shift leaders, and managers across all Dairy Queen New York State locations.

  • Oversee the onboarding process to ensure new hires are effectively trained on brand standards, operations, food safety, and customer service.

  • Partner with operations and HR to identify training needs and develop customized learning solutions that drive performance and retention.

  • Deliver in-person and virtual training sessions and workshops; evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.

  • Develop and maintain up-to-date training materials, manuals, SOPs, and e-learning modules that reflect brand and operational standards.

  • Train and certify in-store trainers and managers to ensure consistency in delivery and execution across locations.

  • Support new store openings by coordinating and executing training plans for staff and management.

  • Monitor training KPIs, such as employee performance, turnover, and guest satisfaction, to inform strategy and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure training programs align with health and safety regulations, labor compliance, and company policies.

  • Stay current on industry trends and incorporate best practices into training content and delivery methods.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in training or operations management within the quick service restaurant or hospitality industry.

  • Strong knowledge of QSR operations, including food safety, shift management, and guest service.

  • Proven ability to design, implement, and scale training programs across multiple locations.

  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and learning management systems (LMS); experience with e-learning authoring tools is a plus.

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and travel between restaurant locations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting multi-unit operations or franchise groups.

  • Certifications in training, hospitality, or food safety (e.g., ServSafe, CHDT, or similar).
