Job Summary – Senior Organic Chemist
We have an immediate opportunity at our Redwood Valley location. We are seeking a Senior Organic Chemist to become part of a solid and successful team that is already in place. This is a full-time, benefited position at 40 hours per week with the possibility of overtime.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Instrumental analysis and maintenance
Data interpretation and reporting
Method development and validation
Drafting controlled/technical documents
Technical lead and authority for organic analytical chemistry operations. Organic chemistry operations include, but are not limited to the following analysis:
o Pesticide Residues (GC-MS/MS & LC-MS/MS) Residual Solvents (HS-GC-MS)
o Potency of Cannabinoids (LV)
o Potency of Terpenoids (GC)
Support training and development of Chemist I and Laboratory Technician
Qualifications/ Desired Skills:
Minimum: Bachelors in Analytical Chemistry or related field
5+ years lab experience using HPLC, GC, and Mass Spectrometry in a NELAC or ISO 17025 certified laboratory
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in environmental analysis using GC-MS, GC-MS/MS, or LC-MS/MS
Experience with ABSciex instrumentation and software
Experience with Agilent instrumentation and software — especially MassHunter
Experience writing SOPs and method validation procedures
Experience with LIMS integration, electronic notebooks, and general IT knowledge
Experience performing pesticide residue analysis in foods, soil, or water
