Role Overview:
The Vice President (VP) – IT Services Investment Banking will play a pivotal role in driving strategic advisory and transaction execution for clients in the IT services sector. The VP will work closely with senior leadership to originate, structure, and execute M&A transactions, capital raises, and other financial solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of the IT services landscape, strong technical skills, and the ability to build lasting client relationships in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain relationships with clients across the IT services sector, including consulting firms, managed service providers, and technology outsourcing companies.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their strategic goals and providing tailored financial and strategic solutions.
    • Represent the firm in client meetings, presentations, and industry conferences.
  2. Transaction Leadership:

    • Lead the origination, structuring, and execution of M&A transactions, equity offerings, and debt financing for IT services clients.
    • Oversee the preparation of pitch books, financial models, offering memoranda, and transaction marketing materials.
    • Manage all aspects of transaction execution, including due diligence, valuation analysis, negotiation, and closing.
  3. Market & Industry Expertise:

    • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the IT services sector, including industry trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory changes.
    • Provide clients with strategic insights and actionable recommendations based on market analysis.
    • Leverage industry expertise to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  4. Team Leadership & Development:

    • Mentor and guide Analysts and Associates, reviewing their work and fostering professional growth.
    • Lead deal teams to ensure high-quality deliverables and successful outcomes for clients.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the team.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Partner with product specialists, geographic teams, and senior bankers to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
    • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including legal advisors, accountants, and consultants, to ensure seamless transaction execution.
    • Coordinate with other industry groups within the firm to identify cross-sector opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field; MBA or CFA strongly preferred.
  • 6-10 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate finance, with a focus on IT services or technology.
  • Strong technical skills, including financial modeling, valuation, and advanced use of Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical tools.
  • Proven ability to manage complex transactions and lead multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • High attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering exceptional results.

Preferred Skills & Attributes:

  • Deep knowledge of the IT services sector, including key players, trends, and growth drivers.
  • Track record of originating and executing successful transactions in the IT services or technology space.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strategic approach to business development.
  • Series 79 and 63 licenses (or willingness to obtain them).
