Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Managing Director to cover application software clients including financial sponsors and large corporates. 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership:

   • Develop and execute the strategic vision for application software within the bank, aligning it with overall business objectives and growth plans.
   • Lead the formulation of software strategies that support digital transformation and innovation initiatives.

2. Software Development & Management:

   • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of application software solutions, ensuring they meet high standards of quality, security, and performance.
   • Manage the software development lifecycle, including planning, execution, and continuous improvement.

3. Global Coordination:

   • Coordinate with regional and global teams to ensure consistency and integration of application software solutions across different markets and operations.
   • Foster collaboration between IT, business units, and external vendors to drive successful software projects.

4. Innovation & Technology:

   • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure our application software remains cutting-edge and competitive.
   • Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the software development team.

5. Budget & Resource Management:

   • Develop and manage budgets for application software projects, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and adherence to financial constraints.
   • Oversee the recruitment, development, and performance management of software development professionals.

6. Risk Management & Compliance:

   • Identify and mitigate risks related to application software, including operational, security, and regulatory risks.
   • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices.

7. Stakeholder Engagement:

   • Engage with senior executives, business leaders, and key stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations regarding application software.
   • Provide regular updates on software projects, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, MSc) preferred.
• Experience: At least 15 years of progressive experience in software development, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role within the financial services industry.
• Skills:
  • Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale software development projects and teams.
  • Deep understanding of banking operations, regulatory requirements, and technology trends.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior executives and stakeholders.
  • Experience managing global teams and working in a multicultural environment.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master, ITIL) are a plus.
