We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Investment Banking to join our team and lead M&A advisory services for clients in the software, tech-enabled services, marketing, and data sectors. The ideal candidate will bring 7-10 years of experience in M&A, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of the unique dynamics within these industries.

Job Description:

As the Director of Investment Banking, you will play a key role in driving and executing M&A transactions and strategic advisory for clients in the software, technology-enabled services, marketing, data, and information services sectors. You will leverage your expertise to provide best-in-class advisory services, manage client relationships, and lead transaction processes from start to finish. You will work closely with senior leadership and support the development of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead M&A Transactions: Drive and execute buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, from deal sourcing through due diligence and final closing, while managing all aspects of the deal process.

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives, investors, and other key stakeholders within the software, tech-enabled services, marketing, and data industries.

  • Strategic Advisory: Provide strategic counsel to clients on key financial and operational issues, such as capital structure, financial modeling, valuations, market trends, and growth strategies.

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor junior team members, helping to develop their technical skills and providing guidance on deal execution.

  • Industry Expertise: Stay abreast of market trends, emerging technologies, and industry dynamics within the software, tech-enabled services, marketing, data, and information services sectors.

  • Pitch and Business Development: Lead efforts to identify and develop new business opportunities. Prepare and deliver client presentations, pitches, and proposals to win new mandates.

  • Transaction Structuring & Negotiation: Negotiate terms and structure transactions to align with client objectives and ensure favorable outcomes.

  • Market Analysis & Due Diligence: Conduct detailed financial analysis, including valuation models, financial statements review, and due diligence, to support the transaction process.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 7-10 years of experience in M&A investment banking, with a focus on the software, tech-enabled services, marketing, and data/information services sectors. Experience in advising clients on complex M&A transactions is essential.

  • Technical Skills: Strong financial modeling, valuation, and transaction structuring capabilities. Deep understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and due diligence processes.

  • Industry Knowledge: Experience working with companies in the software, technology, marketing, and data sectors, with a solid understanding of trends, market dynamics, and business models.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and compelling manner to senior executives and boards.

  • Client-Centric Approach: Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships, with a focus on delivering value-added solutions and services.

  • Leadership & Teamwork: Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of managing teams and driving successful deal outcomes. Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work across teams and with senior leadership.

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field is required. An MBA or other relevant advanced degree is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the technology, marketing, and data industries.
  • Experience with cross-border transactions.
  • Strong network within the M&A ecosystem (clients, investors, other advisors).
