Position Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Managing Director to lead and expand our Infrastructure Software practice within the Upper Middle Market segment. This role is a leadership position within our Investment Banking division, with responsibility for origination, execution, and strategic development across infrastructure software verticals including cloud computing, DevOps, cybersecurity, edge computing, IT operations, and enterprise infrastructure platforms.
The ideal candidate brings deep sector knowledge, a strong transaction track record, and the ability to drive business development initiatives while mentoring high-performing junior teams.
Key Responsibilities
Origination & CoverageLead the coverage of private equity sponsors, founder-led businesses, and corporate clients across the infrastructure software sector.
Develop and maintain C-level relationships to originate exclusive and competitive M&A mandates.
Identify strategic growth opportunities, trends, and disruptive themes within infrastructure software to inform client engagement.
Oversee and lead end-to-end execution of complex M&A transactions, including buyside and sellside engagements.
Serve as the senior point of contact for clients throughout all phases of deal execution, including valuation, marketing, diligence, negotiations, and closing.
Collaborate closely with product and sector partners to structure and optimize transaction outcomes.
Provide strategic mentorship to Vice Presidents, Associates, and Analysts to build transaction acumen and sector fluency.
Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and through thought leadership in the infrastructure software domain.
Partner with senior leadership to shape the direction and strategic vision of the technology investment banking group.
Qualifications
10+ years of investment banking experience with a strong focus on M&A within the software or broader technology sector.
Proven track record of originating and closing upper middle market M&A transactions ($100M–$1B+ deal range), with a concentration in infrastructure software.
Demonstrated ability to build and lead client relationships at the board and C-suite levels.
Strong technical background in M&A, including financial modeling, valuation, transaction structuring, and due diligence.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth platform.
MBA or equivalent from a top-tier institution preferred; Series 79 and 63 licenses required (or obtainable upon hire).
