M&A Associate – Technology, AdTech, Information Services, and Tech-Enabled Services

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced M&A Associate to join our dynamic team at a premier boutique investment bank in New York City. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in executing M&A transactions within the technology, adtech, information services, and tech-enabled services sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented professional to contribute to high-profile deals and work alongside industry experts in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Transaction Execution:

    • Assist in the execution of M&A transactions, including buy-side and sell-side engagements.
    • Conduct financial modeling, valuation analysis, and due diligence.
    • Prepare and review transaction documents such as pitch books, information memoranda, and management presentations.
    • Coordinate and manage transaction processes, including liaising with clients, potential buyers/sellers, and other stakeholders.
  2. Industry Research:

    • Perform comprehensive research and analysis on industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscapes in the technology, adtech, information services, and tech-enabled services sectors.
    • Identify potential acquisition targets and strategic partners for clients.
  3. Client Interaction:

    • Support senior bankers in maintaining and developing client relationships.
    • Prepare client presentations and participate in client meetings.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to clients based on analysis and market research.
  4. Team Collaboration:

    • Work closely with senior bankers and other team members to ensure seamless execution of M&A transactions.
    • Mentor and guide junior analysts, providing training and support as needed.
  5. Project Management:

    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
    • Maintain organized and accurate records of all transaction-related activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in investment banking, specifically in M&A within the technology, adtech, information services, or tech-enabled services sectors.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with deal origination and transaction structuring.
  • Knowledge of current market trends and regulatory environment in the relevant sectors.
  • Established network of industry contacts.
